Rigging engineering for the erection of steel and prestressed concrete beams for the special artworks.

The Sir Solomons Hochoy Highway, the main highway of the Trinidad and Tobago island, underwent extension works of 47km. The improvement includes several special artworks such as bridges and underpasses.
Of those artworks, Emasa Engineering performed the rigging engineering for several bridges whose beams weighed around 40Tons. The typology of the bridges were of both full flange steel beams and prestressed concrete.
Structural verifications were conducted for the lifting lugs and on the beams themselves and also for all of the aspects that surround the rigging operation, such as: maximum allowable wind, ground bearing pressure and structural verification of the lifting arrangement.
